How to use this shift calendar generator

Every rotating schedule repeats in a fixed cycle, so your whole year is locked in by just two facts: which pattern you work and one date where your cycle started. Here is all you do:

  1. Choose your pattern. If you are not sure of the name, ask a coworker or compare the previews — the 2-2-3 (Panama) and Pitman feel identical day-to-day, while DuPont is famous for its seven days off in a row.
  2. Set the cycle start date. Use the hint under the date field — for most patterns it is simply the first day of any work block you can remember, past or future.
  3. Check any date. Your kid's graduation, a concert, Thanksgiving — type the date and get a one-line answer, then scroll the calendar for the big picture.
  4. Take it with you. Tap Add to my calendar to download an .ics file that drops every shift for the next 12 months straight into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook.

Why shift workers bookmark this page

Employer scheduling apps show two weeks ahead at best, and paper rosters never survive the fridge door. Because rotations are pure math, MyShiftCal can show you next August right now — that is what makes it useful for planning vacations around your off days, swapping shifts with the opposite crew, or figuring out whether a wedding lands on your work weekend. Nurses, firefighters, police officers, plant operators, and dispatchers all run on these same rotations; only the pattern name changes.

Everything is calculated on your device. We do not ask who you are, we do not store your schedule, and the page loads fast on any phone — that is the whole point.

Frequently asked questions

My department's rotation isn't listed. What do I do?

Start with the closest match and check a few known dates. Many "custom" schedules are a standard pattern with a different start day. If yours truly differs, tell us via the contact page — adding a pattern takes us a day.

What if I don't know my cycle start date?

Any date you are sure about works — even yesterday. If you know you worked a day shift on a specific date, set the start so that date shows as a work day, then verify one or two other dates you remember.

Does the .ics export update automatically?

No — it is a one-time snapshot of the next 12 months, which keeps your calendar private. If your rotation changes, come back, adjust the start date, and export a fresh file.

Is this really free?

Yes. The site is supported by ads, and the calculator itself has no locked features and no account.
